Tame the Track Snowmobile Championship Tour, will offer the Vicious Vintage Snowmobile Series, also known as VVCS, to different communities within the State of Maine in 2020. VVCS enjoys organizing the sport of vintage racing. VVCS will offer 6-9 races per season/year, while offering membership, Points Championship and competitive racing amongst 15 various divisions of snowmobile racing classes, with a guaranteed purse of $2,500.00 per event. With your assistance the mission is to make VVCS the largest organized vintage snowmobile racing organization.`
The purpose of the Vicious Vintage Championship Series (VVCS) organization is to provide the opportunity for race teams to compete, entertain, and enjoy the simple sport of vintage snowmobile racing by offering a regular season, to include a Points Championship amongst all active race teams, regardless of division with a set of rules and regulations set forth. Racing rules and regulations serve as the proper way to ensure the race and operations are competitive and played fairly, so as each individual and race team has an equal chance to showcase their talents and allow their race team to be as successful, as possible.
Snowmobiles from 1999 and earlier are eligible for vintage racing. Watching vintage racing is like stepping back in time, you will see Ski-Doo, Moto-ski, Arctic Cat, Polaris, Yamaha, Skiroule, Rupp, Mercury, Sno-Jet, John Deere and Chaparral snowmobiles, and more. Competitor ages vary from the youngsters of 4 years old thru the 50 year old Masters class.
To promote and advance our winter racing organization, the Trail 600 Stock division has been added to our regular vintage and kids existing program, which will allow 1994-current manufactured stock snowmobiles; up to 600 cc. The Trail 600 race division will be offered in 2020 as a five race experimental type class.
VVCS offers the following classes: Stock and Modified – Single Cylinder, 340s, 440s—both Stock & Modified, Vintage IFS {up to ‘99}, Trail 600 Stock, Women’s Invitational, Juniors Invitational, Teens Invitational, Kids 120cc Stock, Improved & Modified divisions and Kids 200 stock, which are offered at every race venue of regular events. Each venue will have a Main Event, which is generally an extended lap feature for a specific division, all divisions will have their respective special event, throughout the season.
